A Short Story, Part 2

images (1)

The familiar burbling sounds came back. They faded in from below me growing louder every second. I thought I was hearing the same sounds, but I realized they were different as they amplified. I looked down to see where they came from. It looked like a ball of light covered by white and dark clouds. The dark clouds were slowly covering the ball of light creeping like shadows in the night. Each moved with terror and grief drowning every white cloud deep below it.

The sounds were actually voices that came from the white and dark clouds. Some were happy voices, some were sad. There were voices of excitement and thrill, while there were those of frustration and disappointment. Their sound became dissonant as they intertwined in the distance creating a heavy feeling that is incomprehensible.

A Short Story

images

“What to write? What to write?” I asked myself repeatedly as I sat quietly with a heavy heart, hoping the emotions lingering in the inner depths of my being would speak louder and clearer. I tried to concentrate, and allow myself to immerse into nature’s often neglected realm. I could hear my heart throbbing, complementing the thumping sound of footsteps echoing along our corridor. The fan kept turning, painting a whirl in my mind as I dissolved into a trance powered by the squishing sound of the running water from the shower room. I felt the swish and the swash that turned into burbling sounds as nature transported me into the jaws of my humanity.

I was thrown into nothingness. Down I went into what seemed an endless fall. Looking up, I saw the light fading from the opening. The sound faded as well but only for a short while. There was silence everywhere making me feel numb with cold. Things weren’t making sense, you see. I was falling, I know, yet I was getting lighter as I fall.

*Friends, I’m cooking up a short story. It doesn’t have a title yet… Will figure it out later. 🙂

Let Met Fly Again

DSC04696

I have been away, I know
Something inside longs to see you
As though this tree —
worn out,
leaflessly spreading it’s arms upward

DSC04586

I’m peering from beneath
Seeing little streaks of light

It’s dark
It’s suffocating

Looking up
I yearn to feel
The warmth of your embrace

It’s time I come out
From this cave of doom

Lead me, Lord
Lead me out
And let me fly freely again
