Happy Anniversary to Me

I have to be honest. I have been lackadaisical again lately with no enthusiasm to write and think of something worthy of reading at your end. I have been doing a lot of reading lately though, and I have gained a particular interest in Katherine Mansfield’s works, the only writer with writings that have made Virginia Woolf so jealous about. And then I checked for notifications only to find out that it’s been a year since I first created this blog. Drum roll, please! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!

Oh my, I didn’t even prepare for this. How awful is that? I’m sitting here typing away with nothing planned in mind to write about. I have thirty minutes before it’s time for me to take my sister to her work and then take myself to school to start my day as well. So I though, hmmmm… Maybe I should just go back to how it all was at the very start of this journey. The original plan was just for me to write write write my thoughts and feelings out — a diary of some sort. And you will see that in my first few posts. I’m literally just expressing my thoughts, sharing my views about my daily encounters. And then I met all of you, and have seen many other blogs, and that practically just somehow changed and reshaped my blog.

So, right now, I’m in a real dilemma. Other people would surely find me impractical, extravagant (in the context of feelings), and even crazy to even think of all these things that I’m about to share. I am thinking of not renewing my contract from my current work, leave at the end of the year, and go back home to the Philippines where I plan to go back to my old school, share what I have learned from here, and hope that I could make some changes in the process. Crazy because it would mean I will be leaving a job that’s been paying me three times what I get if I teach at home. I have managed to come up with a practical reason somehow (and I hope it’s somehow weighty) — I want to study again and finish my masters. Haha. Does that sound convincing?

Seriously, I don’t know what to say? I’m still praying about this though, and hope that I’d make the right decision.

I know it’s not going to be easy if I choose to go home. There will be many brickwalls — that’s for sure. But I feel that I will have joy in the end.

I just want to thank you all at this point for having journeyed with me this far. Thank you so much. 🙂
