A Short Story, Part 2

images (1)

The familiar burbling sounds came back. They faded in from below me growing louder every second. I thought I was hearing the same sounds, but I realized they were different as they amplified. I looked down to see where they came from. It looked like a ball of light covered by white and dark clouds. The dark clouds were slowly covering the ball of light creeping like shadows in the night. Each moved with terror and grief drowning every white cloud deep below it.

The sounds were actually voices that came from the white and dark clouds. Some were happy voices, some were sad. There were voices of excitement and thrill, while there were those of frustration and disappointment. Their sound became dissonant as they intertwined in the distance creating a heavy feeling that is incomprehensible.

To be continued…

A story that draws us close to the edge so we can see and feel the irresistible thrill and excitement. Captivating! In a way, our life is a constant battle of light and darkness. It helps to know we are not alone.
