I’m intrigued by how the world works. I think we have surrounded ourselves with too many expectations and unnecessary pressures that take us away from the things that matter in life.
Learning should be engaging. It has to be about the things we are passionate about or those that we are keen on doing in life. Those that inspire and dare us to give our best. And those that excite us and give us that sense of purpose.
It should not be reduced or equated to some numerical grades that we are made to try so hard to pass. Nor should it be about titles and degrees that purportedly make us immune to human scrutiny. These feeble attempts at measuring who we are and how much we have learnt in life diminish the quality life we all ought to have. They impede us from growing and developing into the person we ought to become. We have to stop looking at grades and degrees as qualifications, as though tickets we show around in order to get a better chance at life. Learning, in order for it to occur naturally in us, should not be about proving ourselves. It shouldn’t be some kind of a demarcation line that we all need to surpass. Hence, we should never allow these so-called ‘certifications’ to define who we are.
Learning about something has to be simply because of LEARNING and DISCOVERING what LIVING is about. It’s about the joy of knowing and creating and making meaning.
Learning has to be ENRICHING. It has to be RELEVANT.
It has to MAKE SENSE.
