Slow Down

I recently asked my students to write a poem, crafted to be performed in class. Here’s one poem that’s caught my attention. The subject of the poem is obviously me. I’m just blown away by the depth of the poem. At a young age, this student can see so much…

Jake, you’re full of life and raring to go
You never do or go anywhere slow
You always have hundreds of things to do
You never seem to have time for you

So slow down
Make things last
Or you’ll find your life
Goes by too fast

I poem we all need to ponder as a lot of times, we are so caught up trying to chase life and forgetting to savor life. I’m guilty of this and so when I get the chance, I try to enjoy life the way it’s meant to be enjoyed.
