One More Time

Taken at Ana-ana Point, Tamakautoga, Niue

I came back to see you one more time
Perhaps to savor this moment
To relish the warmth and joy we bring
No words, no gestures, just gazes
Oh, how intimate!
I like it that way.

I came back to see you one more time
Even though only for a very a short time
Time seems endless
With you around

I came back to see you one more time
Only to say ‘goodbye’ again
Hoping this isn’t our last
Oh, let me look at you
While this lasts

Stunning photo and the longing in the poem is deeply felt as you read the lines.

What a lovely poem, although I detect some sadness, but I suppose saying goodbye, not knowing when we may see someone again is always sad. Nice to see you back here Mock! 🙂 (PS I tried to ‘like’ but WP is acting up!)

Yup, sorry if it’s been a while. I got entangled with some school work…quite busy really.

I actually wrote the poem from the perspective of the sun, and I’m just quite fascinated at (the writing process) how this post started with a dream of someone I thought to be my soul mate. I didn’t eben know the person, just a blurry picture in my mind. In my dream, I came back and actually dared to get to know the person. Then, I woke up and thought of writing about it, and then realized that I could not actually write extensively about it. It just wouldn’t get across, so I decided to look for a photo, found that image on top, and wrote the poem from the sunset’s perspective. In the same way, I could still express the profound emotions I felt in my dream. The poem now speaks to me in different ways. It’s that part in life when we realize that we are all but transients.

I have a friend who’s leaving at the end of this school year, and this makes me think… what are the chances that I’d see her again? 😦

Haha. Enough of the drama. Thanks for visiting me today. Much appreciated.

Thank you so much. It speaks to me in many ways, in different angles, at different levels. It’s about our relationships with people, things, and places we get so attached to. It’s embracing the truth that I may not see you anymore next time. Thanks for commenting today. Will visit your blog soon. 🙂
